The Scientific Committee of the Neurosurgery International Master Class: Updates & Techniques Conference invites abstracts of the topic in Neurosurgery area related to skull base, Neuroncology, spine, vascular, functional and epilepsy and pain. The submission period begins on 15\08\2023 and closes on 15\10\2023, at 6:00 pm UAE time. We advise all submitters to read this guide before submitting an abstract. 

Abstracts will be evaluated by the conference scientific committee. Authors are asked to indicate on the abstract submission form whether they prefer an oral or poster presentation. Abstracts submitted for oral/poster presentation but not selected for oral presentation may be referred to the poster sessions. Decisions of the selection committee are final. All accepted abstracts and the list of authors will be published in the conference brochure. 

All abstracts will be reviewed and evaluated and then accepted or rejected for presentation. This process will take some time and the result will be emailed to each author by 30\10\2023. 

The primary assessment criteria are the quality of the study, the topic’s relevance to our audience, and the influence on the field.

An abstract can be submitted for presentation at the Conference as one of the following categories:

  • Poster Presentation
  • Patient Case Study / Research Study
Abstracts should be organized according to a series of subtitles:

  • Abstract Title: The title should reflect the content and should be no more than 20 words long. 
  • Listing of Authors: The name of the first-named author is the presenting author. Do not include professional titles or degrees. 
  • Background: should not exceed 50 words. 
  • Methodology: should not exceed 150 words. 
  • Results: should not exceed 150 words. 
  • Discussion and Conclusions: should not exceed 150 words. 
  • Conflicts: Must declare any conflicts of interest or funding. 
  • Keywords: provide a minimum of two, and a maximum of five keywords. 
  • Please keep the following points in mind when submitting your abstract:

Abstracts should be submitted in English only. 

Abbreviations may be used after they have been previously defined.

Accepted posters will be asked to produce a poster for display at the conference. Presenters are asked to take note of the following guidelines when producing their poster:

  • Maximum poster size is 85CM x 200CM – Roll up Banner Size
  • Ensure any text is in large font
  • Use graphs, charts, and/or tables
  • Ensure contents have a logical flow
  • E-Poster will be placed ONSITE and DIGITAL
  • Language must be in English

Removal and collection of posters at the end of the display period remain the responsibility of the presenter. Posters not removed by the indicated take-down time will be removed and disposed of.

  • The abstract submission deadline will be on 15\10\2023.
  • The abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Each presenter (mostly the main author) can submit a maximum of two abstracts. The presenting author must register and attend the congress should the submitted abstract/s be accepted.
  • It is the responsibility of the presenting author to submit the abstract. They are the main contact whose responsibility it is to communicate with other co-authors.
  • The presenting author must register for the conference and pay in full by the deadline indicated in the abstract review outcome email. If they do not register and pay in full, the abstract will be removed from the programme and any associated publications.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published on site and may appear on the conference website and/or other conference-related materials, and this will not raise any copyright issues.
  • A submission as a particular presentation type or theme may be changed to a different type following a review to be accepted and included in the programme.
  • By submitting an abstract, the author(s) consent to present their work in person.
